Hi, I’m Jon.
I’m 55 and I live with myasthenia gravis. I was diagnosed in 2022, and like many people, I had to give up work and try to understand what MG actually meant for my life.
At the start, finding clear, practical information was difficult. I found myself searching through websites, videos, and medical explanations, but still feeling like something was missing, a simpler way to understand, track, and communicate what living with MG is really like.
That experience led me back to university, where I’m studying UX and Web Design so I can build TogetherMG, an app designed for people living with MG, as well as carers, families, and loved ones.
Through the blog, I’ll be documenting the journey of building the app: what I’m learning, the challenges along the way, and why designing around real lived experience matters.
TogetherMG is being built from within the community I now call my own.
I hope you’ll follow the journey, and one day, use the app for yourself or someone you care about.
