Hi, I’m Jon.
I’m 55 and I live with myasthenia gravis. I was diagnosed in 2022, and like many people, I had to give up work and try to understand what MG actually meant for my life.
At the start, finding clear, practical information was difficult. I found myself searching through websites, videos, and medical explanations, but still feeling like something was missing, a simpler way to understand, track, and communicate what living with MG is really like.
That experience led me back to university, where I’m studying UX and Web Design so I can build Together MG — an app designed for people living with MG, as well as carers, families, and loved ones.
Through the blog, I’ll be documenting the journey of building the app: what I’m learning, the challenges along the way, and why designing around real lived experience matters.
Together MG is being built from within the community I now call my own.
I hope you’ll follow the journey — and one day, use the app for yourself or someone you care about.
